Hexagram 9: *Xiao Xu* (Little Accumulation / Wind-Heaven *Xiao Xu*)
Hexagram Structure: Upper *Xun* (Wind), Lower *Qian* (Heaven)
☀ Yang Aspect: Dense clouds bring no rain; small gains are accumulated. Though strength is limited, the direction is correct. Use softness to nurture firmness, and build up from small to great. Proceed steadily with small steps, and you will eventually reach your goal — do not crave grandeur.
☾ Yin Aspect: Weak in strength yet craving great undertakings, you will bite off more than you can chew. Rushing for results with insufficient accumulation will only drain your resources. Trying to achieve big things with little effort is futile and will harm your own vitality.
Hexagram 20: *Guan* (Observation / Wind-Earth *Guan*)

☀ Yang Aspect: Wind blows over the earth, observing all living beings. Gain insight into the overall situation, stand high and see far, and discern the right direction. Observe more and act rashly less; focus on setting an example with your own words and deeds, and influence others through virtue.
☾ Yin Aspect: Only observing without acting will make you miss good opportunities; armchair strategizing will always fall short. Prying into others’ privacy will incur dislike; being clear-sighted about others but never reflecting on yourself makes you just as muddle-headed.
Hexagram 37: *Jia Ren* (The Family / Wind-Fire *Jia Ren*)

☀ Yang Aspect: Wind rises from fire — this is the way of managing a family. Each person abides by their role, senior and junior follow proper order, and words match deeds. Harmony in the family brings prosperity in all things; only by cultivating oneself and regulating the family can one achieve great things in the world. Set an example to educate and guide the family.
☾ Yin Aspect: Disorder in the family and confusion between internal and external matters will lead to the decline of the family line. Lax household management and indulgent spoiling are the root of ruining the family. If family members are discordant and each harbors their own agenda, trouble will break out at home.
Hexagram 42: *Yi* (Increase / Wind-Thunder *Yi*)

☀ Yang Aspect: Wind and thunder stir each other, mutually enhancing one another. Benefiting others is benefiting oneself; helping others is helping oneself. Act actively and bestow favors widely. Reducing the upper to benefit the lower will delight all the people; mutual benefit and win-win results are the great path.
☾ Yin Aspect: Only taking without giving will eventually lose people’s support. Acting in the name of self-benefit while harming others will cost more than you gain. Excessive increase and insatiable greed will instead bring harm.
Hexagram 53: *Jian* (Gradual Progress / Wind-Mountain *Jian*)

☀ Yang Aspect: Trees grow on the mountain — progress is gradual and orderly. Like a tree growing, be neither hasty nor impatient; consolidate at every step and improve steadily. Follow the right path and proceed step by step, and you will eventually reach a lofty realm.
☾ Yin Aspect: Rushing for results will only make you fall short of the goal. Acting without following rules leads to disorder; skipping steps and advancing recklessly will surely make you stumble. Losing patience during gradual progress will waste all previous efforts.
Hexagram 57: *Xun* (The Gentle / Wind as *Xun*)

☀ Yang Aspect: Following the wind, *Xun* is gentle and penetrating. Overcome the firm with the soft, and guide situations according to their tendency, like wind that seeps through every crack. Influence things imperceptibly, go with the flow, and use softness to subdue firmness.
☾ Yin Aspect: Being overly compliant makes you lose your stance. Swaying with the wind and having no mind of your own makes it hard to achieve great things. Indecisiveness and fickleness will make you lose trust from others. Being spineless will only make you bullied.
Hexagram 59: *Huan* (Dispersion / Wind-Water *Huan*)

☀ Yang Aspect: Wind blows over the water — dispersion and separation. When people’s hearts are scattered, use sincere communication to build consensus. Like wind stirring ripples on the water, reunite people’s hearts and establish shared beliefs.
☾ Yin Aspect: Letting dispersion go unchecked will lead to fragmentation and an irreparable situation. Letting things run their own course will result in each acting independently and falling apart. When people’s hearts are scattered, great things cannot be achieved, and the situation cannot be salvaged.
Hexagram 61: *Zhong Fu* (Inner Truth / Wind-Marsh *Zhong Fu*)

☀ Yang Aspect: Wind blows over the marsh — inner sincerity and trust. A sincere heart is like wind blowing over marsh water, moving heaven and earth with integrity. ☾ Yin Aspect: Trusting others too easily will make you exploited; integrity is not the same as naivety. Appearing sincere on the surface but being hypocritical at heart will eventually be exposed. Trusting without distinguishing right from wrong becomes blind faith.
